What is Guillain-Barré Syndrome

Guillain-Barré is a rapid demyelination autoimmune disorder that can be life threatening within 24hrs of first symptoms.

Canadian Guillain-Barré Syndrome Awareness Society

Founded in 2017, to promote awareness of the early symptoms of GBS

There are approximately 5000 known cases of GBS annually in North America and one fifth of these result in death. With broader awareness of GBS and the early symptoms associated with this disorder we hope to significantly reduce the number of fatalities from GBS worldwide.

Furthermore, if treatment is sought is the early onset stages recovery is more complete and the recovery period is much shorter. The recovery period can range from 6 months to several years depending on the level of progression before treatment is started.
